Welcome Carolina!

Ahoj, volám sa Carolina, som z Portugalska a tu je môj príbeh o tom, ako som sa dostala na Slovensko s projektom V.I.A.C. Keď som skončila strednú školu, vedela som, že chcem robiť niečo, čo súvisí s dobrovoľníctvom, bolo to smiešne, pretože by som bola radšej išla tento rok na univerzitu, ale Boh mal so mnou iné plány. Hľadala som dobrovoľnícke programy a nenachádzala som nič, čo by sa mi páčilo, až kým som neuvidela projekt V.I.A.C., ktorý ma zaujal, pretože bol spojený s Katolíckou cirkvou. Začal som uvažovať, či to nie je príliš ďaleko od domova, a je, ale myslela som si, že by mi to prinieslo veľa dobrého, a tak som sa rozhodla prihlásiť. Po podaní prihlášky a prijatí čas letel, kým som sa sem dostala. Nebudem klamať, že je ľahké opustiť domov, nechať všetko za sebou a ísť na úplne neznáme miesto. Nie je to tak, pretože ľudia majú tendenciu hľadať pohodlie a to, čo ho ohrozuje, nie je príjemné, ale myslím si, že to vážne stojí za to, a hoci som tu len dva dni, už teraz si to užívam a uvedomujem si plán, ktorý so mnou Boh má. Ľudia sú priateľskí a veľmi nápomocní, páčia sa mi aj ostatní dobrovoľníci a cítim, že tieto tri mesiace budú veľmi dobre strávené s množstvom zábavy a kamarátstva. Moje očakávania od týchto mesiacov sú naozaj pomáhať ľuďom a ešte viac rozvíjať seba osobne a svoj vzťah s Bohom.

English: Hi, I'm Carolina, I'm from Portugal and here's my story of how I ended up in Slovakia with the V.I.A.C. project. When I finished high school, I knew I wanted to do something related to volunteering, and it was funny because I would have liked to have gone to university this year, but God had other plans for me. I went looking for volunteer programs and couldn’t find anything I liked until I saw the V.I.A.C. project, which piqued my interest because it was connected to the Catholic Church. I began to wonder if it was too far from home, and it is, but I thought it would do me a lot of good and that's how I decided to apply. After applying and being accepted, the time flew by until I got here. I'm not going to lie and say that it's easy to leave home, leave everything behind and go to a completely unknown place. It's not, because human beings tend to seek comfort and something that puts that at risk isn't easy, but I think it's super worth it and even though I've only been here for two days, I'm already enjoying it and I understand the plan that God had for me. The people are friendly and very helpful, I like the other volunteers too and I feel that these three months are going to be very well spent with lots of fun and companionship. My expectations for these months are really to help people and to develop myself personally and my relationship with God even more.
